Wall of Wonder and Participatory Strategic Planning
7:30 PM to 11 PM (4 Sessions)

Introduction to the Wall of Wonder (WOW)
A critical part of organization and community development is helping members to reflect on their current story and when needed, create a new one for the new future they are working towards. Wall of Wonder is an ORID-based exercise that can help individual and groups to understand and create their new stories.
•To enable a group to share and learn from their varied perspectives of their journey together.
•To enable a group to realize over a specific period of time, what has
shaped that journey and what has brought them to their current position.

The ICA Adult Learning Flow applies to this design as well Demonstration - Design – Practice – Reflect

This flow allows everyone in the room to understand and practice the process
The approach draws heavily on the Focused Conversation method; therefore knowledge of the process is helpful to design appropriate questions towards the desired outcome.

PARTICIPATORY STRATEGIC PLANNING (PSP)
A Participatory Planning Process That Leads To Action and Commitment
(Pre-requisite: GFM-1 Focused Conversation and GFM-2 Consensus Workshop Courses)

The benefits of participatory planning include its beginning with the most concrete and immediate, then longer term enhancement of productivity and effectiveness.
•The specific plans themselves - strategies, solutions, action plans.
•Greater commitment and ability to implement decisions and strategies.
•Creativity and innovation - a larger portfolio of ideas.
•A common framework for decision-making, communication, planning and problem-solving
•Encouragement of initiative and responsibility.

Through this program you can learn this powerful implementation planning process which enables a group to rapidly create an effective plan, organize needed resources and mobilize individuals' energy and creativity into action.
Our methods:
•Create a shared group vision
•Identify and deal with obstacles
•Focus on new directions
•Organize specific action plans

Prerequisite: Group Facilitation Methods 1 and 2

The Institute of Cultural Affairs should be applauded, praised and publicized for its decades of teaching “Giants to Dance” Rosabeth Moss Kanter.
